Our company was founded as a state institution in 1949 in Bucharest, Romania, under the initial name Institute for Studies and Design for the Construction Materials Industry – ISPIM.

Subsequently, over the years, the company operated under various names as a result of several reorganizations.

Between 1974 and 1990, operating under the name **ICPILA**, the company gained significant national and international recognition, playing a major role in the robust development of the cement and construction materials industries in Romania and abroad.
On November 23, 1990, the company adopted its current name, **CEPROCIM**, operating as a joint-stock company initially wholly owned by the Romanian state.
CEPROCIM was privatized in 1995 and 1996 through the state’s sale of a controlling stake to management and employees—who still hold this control today—and the free distribution of the remaining shares to the general public via a public offering.
Throughout its more than 60-year history, the company has developed the documentation and provided the technical engineering services required for the construction and operation of over 80 cement production lines in Romania and abroad.
Currently, CEPROCIM conducts research, development, and innovation activities and provides consultancy services—meeting European standards—for businesses in the inorganic binders sector (cement, lime, gypsum, composite binder materials) and other fields. It also supports national programs coordinated by the National Authority for Scientific Research, European programs, and sectoral programs coordinated by the Ministry of Economy and Finance or other ministries.
Additionally, the company performs specific analyses and tests in its own laboratories, which are RENAR-accredited and equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation. Carries out activities related to the conformity assessment of construction products through third-party certification and inspection bodies that are RENAR-accredited and nationally and internationally recognized.
